Experiences: memories you can’t pay for

Written by Alba Manchado

It is often said that nowadays people are happier consuming material things than

experiences. But is it better to spend money on things or experiences? As far as I’m

concerned, I believe that the best way to spend money is on experiences, because they

create memories forever, and it’s a way to discover new places or activities.

To start with, experiences create memories that never die. Memories are not a material thing

that you can lose or even break, which means that they are forever. In addition,

remembering experiences brings nostalgia, but also happiness. For instance, I will never

forget when I started walking as a baby in Switzerland, but I don’t remember the teddy bear

that my parents bought me on the trip. This is why I strongly believe that we should spend

money on experiences, rather than on things.

After that, experiences are a good way to discover new activities or places. Plenty of things

that we usually do are thanks to those activities that we once tried. Moreover, you can share

moments with friends and family and spend a great time together. For example, when you

travel, you discover new cultures and experience different activities that you have never tried

before and that you will remember. This is the reason why, in my mind, I think that it is better

to spend money on experiences than on things.

To sum up, from my point of view, I feel that it is better to spend money on experiences,

because they create unforgettable memories, as well as they are a good way to try new

activities and to discover the world. Also, those experiences can be shared with family and friends.
